April 2015: Greetings from Archbishop Suheil Dawani, Jerusalem
Peace to you in the Name of the Lord
Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!
This Eastertide we have enjoyed two celebrations of Easter, both the Western and Orthodox. As we walked together through Holy Week we had the Renewal of Vows for our Clergy and the Blessing of the Oils which will be used in the Parishes.
We had a wonderful celebration of Easter here at St. George’s Cathedral and I was also able to celebrate Orthodox Easter with our parishes in Amman one week later. We also enjoyed Greetings with the Patriarch and the other Heads of Churches in Jerusalem.
We have also had other opportunities to share the joy of the Resurrection with the many Christian Pilgrims who have visited us over the Easter season.
We have other opportunities to celebrate achievements and activities within the Diocese for which we are very thankful.
We are very aware of the lack of peace and suffering of people throughout our Diocese and the wider Middle East. We especially remember in our prayers the Church in Syria and the large number of refugees in the whole region. We ask you to continue to pray with us for those who are suffering, those who are trying to bring relief, restoration and peace and for the families and communities of those who have lost their lives and their homes.
